This piece came from looking at objects in a house that are usually ignored unless something goes wrong. Vents, pipes, drains, plungers, paint cans, gloves, labels, and stains are not objects people normally stop to look at, but they say a lot about cleaning, fixing, covering, and hiding mess. I wanted to turn those background objects into something loud and uncomfortable. The sculpture is partly funny, but not in a clean way. It is more like the house is talking back.

I built the sculpture as a found-object assemblage using a paint can, floor register, plumbing pipe, plunger, drain cover, rubber glove, product labels, tape, stains, and repair materials. Each object was chosen for its normal household function, then pushed into a body-like form. The paint can became the base, the plunger became a spine, its cover turned into a head, the vent became a mouth , the pipe became a nose, the drain cover became an eye, and the yellow glove became an aggressive hand. I kept the surface messy and awkward because polish would have weakened the Dada influence.

Through this project, I learned that found objects already carry meaning before they are transformed. The strongest part of the work came from letting ordinary materials stay recognizable while forcing them into a new, uncomfortable role. Dada helped me understand that art can be funny, ugly, rude, and still serious. I also learned that discomfort can be useful when it makes the viewer look harder at something they would normally overlook.
